Luckily for Mike Craig at Mike Craig Builders (formally QBuild), the Christison family shared his vision and it is with the joint foresight that they managed to build a Passive House in the beautiful Kapiti. The single-level home features the full pro clima weathertightness and airtightness systems along with ventilation systems installed by eHaus.

Success of a project depends not only on everyone’s skill set but also on their attitude. I’d never met Mike nor worked with him but the Christison family insisted he was going to build their house. I must say after meeting and working with him, I am not surprised they wanted Mike on the job. His workmanship and attitude are superb and the Blower Door test of 0.27 ACH speaks volumes.

Blower Door
A Blower Door is a diagnostic tool that measures and helps locate air leakage within the building envelope. It uses a calibrated fan to generate pressure and measures exactly how much air leakage it takes to maintain that pressure. A Blower Door airtightness test is such a sensible practice that many building codes around the world require it by law.
