For Connecting Polyethylene (PE) Vapour Barriers

Advantages
- 90 days of outdoor exposure
- For airtight sealing
- Water-resistant adhesive -- Lowest VOC rating in hazardous substance test. Tested according to ISO 16000
Areas of application
COMPEGO is a flexible elastic tape with high adhesion strength. Use to permanently seal overlaps, joints and connections for vapour-closed products. Use cases: taping XPS Foam insulation boards, Polyethylene sheet (underslab DPM), Foil-faced vapour-tight insulation boards, steel-skinned SIP panels.
Installation instructions
Substrate
Clean surfaces before applying tape. Adhesion is not possible on frozen surfaces. Materials to be sealed must not contain water-repellent substances (e.g., grease or silicone). Surfaces must also be sufficiently dry and stable.
Permanent adhesion is achieved on all vapour control and airtight membranes (e.g. those made of PE, PA, PP or aluminium) and on roofing underlay and (WRB) membranes (e.g. those made of PP or PET).
Taped joints and connections are possible with planed and painted wood, hard plastics and metal (e.g. pipes, windows, etc.) and hard wood-based panels (chipboard, OSB, plywood, MDF and wood-fibre underlay panels).
Pre-treatment with TESCON PRIMER is required for adhesion to wood-fibre underlay panels or on smooth, mineral subsurfaces. Concrete or plaster subsurfaces must not be sandy or crumbling.
The best results in terms of reliability are achieved on high-quality surfaces.
It is your responsibility to check the suitability of the subsurface; adhesion tests are recommended in some instances. Pre-treatment with TESCON PRIMER is recommended in the case of surfaces that have insufficient stability.
General conditions
Rub the adhesive tapes firmly to secure the adhesive bonds. Ensure that there is suffucient resistance pressure. Windtight, airtight, or rainproof taped joints can only be acheived on vapour control or underlay/facade membranes installed without folds or creases.
